OneDrive Sync Client

The OneDrive Sync Client is a small app that runs on your computer and keeps your files in sync between your computer and OneDrive cloud storage.

How to Log In to OneDrive Sync Client

1. Search for OneDrive on your computer (use the Start Menu).
2. Click "Sign in" when prompted.
3. Enter your Microsoft 365 account credentials (work, school, or personal).
4.  Select folders to sync between your computer and OneDrive.
5. Click Next, and OneDrive will start syncing your files automatically.

Why Use OneDrive Sync Client?

✅ Automatic File Sync – OneDrive keeps your files updated across all your devices, making sure everything stays in sync. ✅ Offline Access – Work on your files even without an internet connection; your changes will sync once you’re online again. ✅ Faster Performance – Since files are saved directly on your PC, accessing and saving them is much faster than through the web. ✅ Seamless Backup – OneDrive automatically backs up your important folders like Desktop, Documents, and Pictures, ensuring they’re safe. ✅ Selective Sync – You can choose which folders to sync, saving space on your computer and keeping only the files you need accessible locally.

Limitations of OneDrive Sync Client

❌ Needs Internet for Cloud Updates – Your files sync with the cloud only when you’re online, meaning changes made offline won’t update until you have an internet connection. ❌ Storage Limits – Free accounts are limited to just 5GB of storage, and you may need to upgrade to a paid plan for more space. ❌ Large File Sync Can Be Slow – Syncing large files or a large number of files might take longer, especially if you have a slow internet connection. ❌ Sync Errors & Conflicts – Editing the same file from different devices at the same time can lead to conflicting copies of the document. ❌ Files Deleted Everywhere – If you delete a file from your OneDrive folder, it will be removed from all synced devices, although it can be restored from the Recycle Bin.
